Return to the Cayman Islands – February 2017

February saw me returning to the Cayman Islands almost a year to the day from when I was last here in 2016. I managed a couple of evenings when I could get out with my camera and I had a hour to kill before heading back to the airport on my last morning. Here I was able to find the lighthouse at the end of North Sound Road that I couldn’t manage to get to last year.

This first photograph above was made at West Bay Dock at sunset. I was lucky to have the girl and her dog enter the scene at the last minute to watch the sunset as I think this adds a useful focal point as does the two people to the right of the second jetty on the next photograph who were enjoying the sunset with a glass of wine.

Sundowners

The next series of photographs were all made at the end of the North Sound Road. The conditions were a bit harsh as it was around 11:00 AM when these were made, so I find that converting to black and white often works better in these situations.

This final shot is heavily photoshopped as again it was taken just before mid-day and produced with the help of a tutorial provided by Serge Ramelli https://photoserge.com who has been a great inspiration to me.
