National Monument., Washington DC.

Washington National Monument

I am hopelessly behind with my May blog post. It’s been very busy at work and we have had family out visiting so there has been very little spare time as in part we have been looking after out granddaughters who are 6 and 3 and can be quite a handful!

We toured the usual sights in and around DC and here are a few point and shoot shots for this months blog.

Jefferson Memorial

A tour of the National Monuments is a must for all our visitors!

Our eldest granddaughter taking in the view at Great Falls

The Falls were raging in the morning we visited and as it was a week day it was very quiet with not many people around.

Great Falls in full flow

A visiting Spanish Galleon at Old Town, Alexandria

Old Town Alexandria is only a 20 minute drive away from where we live in Virginia and is one of our favourite places to while away some time.

A B&W street shot taken in National Harbour

We took the water taxi from Old Town Alexandria over to National Harbour for the afternoon.
