British High Commissioner's Residence
Well I'm late again, but in my defense we are in the process of moving back to the UK as my assignment here in the US comes to an end. Indeed I am drafting this as the packers are in full flow with only one breakage, so far!
Towards the middle of July I had to make a short visit to Kingston, Jamaica. My wife came with me on this trip which involved a transit stop in Miami for a few hours. There were heavy storms over Miami which can be seen in this grab shot from the aircraft window.

Stormy skies over Miami
Miami is a busy hub and not just for American Airlines. We had a tight turnaround but there was just chance to grab this from the terminal window.

I was last in Jamaica twenty one years ago so it was interesting to see how things had changed. Unfortunately I rarely see anything other than the airport, hotel and the office on these trips. The headline shot above is of the British High Commissioner’s Residence.
After a couple of days we were we're back in Washington for four nights before heading back south. This time we were heading back to the Cayman Islands but this time not for work but to stay a few nights with our good friends at their house near the Cayman Islands Yacht Club. No direct flight again but this time we were transiting via Charlotte. Not my favorite airport as I always get delayed here and the return journey didn't disappoint with a 3 hour delay for our connection back to DC.
The photograph below was made at Rum Point on the north side of the island.

This next photograph was of a passing gecko on the wall of our guest cottage at our friends house.

Gecko
Well that's it for now. See you on the other side of the Atlantic in August.
