Düsseldorf Skyline
A short trip to Düsseldorf this month, departing London’s Heathrow Terminal 5 in the late afternoon of 22 February. The British Airways flight was 20 minutes late taking off (no surprise there) but thankfully they made up time on the short 90 minute flight and we landed more or less on schedule.
I have not been to Düsseldorf before, my only previous trips to Germany were around 2002 to Berlin and to RAF Gütersloh as an air cadet around 1971! Düsseldorf is going to be a frequent trip until the end if the year, but I doubt I’ll will be for any longer than an overnight visit so getting some good shots may present a bit of a challenge.
The taxi ride from the airport was uneventful and I arrived at the hotel around 7:30pm. I stayed at the Hotel Nikko on Immermannstrasse 41 which is only a short walk from the office I was visiting. One interesting fact I didn’t know about Düsseldorf is that it has the highest concentration of Japanese outside of Japan!
There’s not much to choose from here, just one of the Düsseldorf skyline above shot from our office and a rather uninspiring view my hotel room below. I’ll try and do better next time! I’ll be visiting New Delhi on the back of this trip in late February/early March which no doubt will be the subject of my next blog entry.
