Petals in the Hotel Lobby
As I mentioned in last months blog March found me in New Delhi for a few days. I had not been back to Delhi since the late 1990’s and from what I remember not a lot has changed other than a new airport terminal which was very welcome after the chaos that I previously recall.
I left London’s Heathrow Terminal 3 late on the Sunday evening, arriving in Delhi around midday the following morning. The drive from the airport to the hotel took about 30 minutes. I was staying at the ITC Maurya which was conveniently located a short drive from our office. A visiting Head of State was also staying at the hotel which was less convenient due to the added security!
I was once again very limited in the time I had available for photography and I even missed Holi, the festival of colours https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holi which was taking place the day I left for my return trip to the airport. However I suspect I would have been reluctant to take my camera out on the streets in these circumstances. My driver told me that today they use chemicals to throw at one another which can be harmful, whereas in the past they had used natural food colouring and dyes.
The title shot was made on the iPhone 6S+ and edited in Lightroom, This next shot was made on the Sony A6500 and again edited in Lightroom.

Long walk
I had chosen a good time to visit with the temperatures around 30C when the UK was suffering from freezing temperatures and heavy snow that brought the usual chaos to our roads and transport system in general. Returning to London a few days later was a bit of a shock going from +30C to -4C!
