On guard

Good Security outside of the hotel at the proposed New Capital. This was taken through the car window, hence the Mitzibushi sign as I didn't want to get out and ask them to pose for the camera!

In April I was back in Cairo following up on my first visit to the country earlier this year; the weather was a bit warmer this time which was welcome. I stayed in the Kempinski Nile Hotel again but with no view of the Nile itself this time. I did however get out of Cairo and visited the “New Capital” that is presently under construction about 60 miles to the east of the current Capital. There is a huge amount of development underway but only time will tell if this becomes a reality and the Capital actually moves. Cairo is basically gridlocked during the day so there is a need to do something.

I also managed to get out one evening and grabbed a few shots some of which are displayed here. All these were shot on my ageing Nikon P7000 and edited in Lightroom.
