Moscow Skyline
July was another busy month, with return trips to Bangalore, Moscow and Paris keeping me busy. I had intended to make Paris the subject of this months blog, but I didn’t get enough time to capture anything I want to share here, so it’s back to Moscow. However in an effort to make this a little different from my May blog I have used a black and white theme.
I flew out to Moscow with a colleague from London Heathrow's Terminal 5 on the Sunday morning, arriving in Moscow in the early evening local time. The weather was mixed and a little cooler than the UK I had left behind, but by the third day this made for some interesting clouds.
I stayed at the Lotte again as this is close to the office and both the Old and New Arbat’s with their street cafés and restaurants. I managed to capture the shot above of the new CBD city skyline from my hotel window. These modern buildings contrast with the Raddison Hotel in the foreground which is one of the "Seven Sisters" built in the Stalinist style of architecture. The Seven Sisters were all constructed between 1947 and 1953 and are a combination of Gothic and Baroque styles. The other photographs here were mostly shot in and around Red Square.
For easy of travel I only had my old Nikon P7000. The photographs here were edited in Lightroom and Silver Efex Pro.
