Herstmonceux Castle

I wasn’t sure I was going to get a suitable subject for this months blog but something always seems to crop up. I was back in Paris at the beginning of the month but no time with the camera. Then our grandchildren came to stay with us for a week, but even with trips to Poo Bridge in the Ashdown Forest, a local Lama Park and Brighton I didn’t manage to capture anything that I would like to share here. But my son-in-law came to the rescue by booking a day at Herstmonceux Castle, East Sussex https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Herstmonceux_Castle which stages a medieval festival over the August Bank Holiday weekend each year.

Herstmonceux Castle dates back to the 15th century and is one of the first brick built castles in England. There were a number of events over the August Bank Holiday Monday including falconry, battle re-enactments, jousting, traditional crafts and folk law.

All the photographers here were shot on my Sony A6500 and edited in Lightroom. They were mostly taken at the height of the day so not the best time but I hope you will find them interesting.
