The edge of the forrest and beyond looking to the West
I thought that once I had retired I would have more time to get out and about with the camera but this has not been the case at least so far. Clearly lockdowns haven’t helped but if I’m honest I have struggled to find the motivation. So with May rapidly running out I took myself off to the nearby Ashdown Forrest https://www.ashdownforest.org/home/index.php with my Nikon D800 coupled with the 70-200 f2.8 Nikkor lens.
I parked up near the visitor centre and walked the loop as I call it for the next 40 mins or so. I was looking for Bluebells as you can see from some of the shots here but there weren’t blankets of them that perhaps I was unrealistically hoping to find.
We are lucky to have the Forrest on our doorstep and I really should make more use of what it has to offer. One word of caution there are usually well over 200 deer collisions each year within the boundaries of the Forrest, most at night. These are usually fatal for the deer and occasionally for the driver, particularly after dark so please drive with caution!
All of the shots here were made on my Nikon D800 and have been edited in Lightroom
Note to self to get off my backside and get out more - with the camera!
