View from the Renaissance Harbour View Hotel

November found me back in Hong Kong for a couple of nights so time as always was limited. It’s around a 12 hour flight from London’s Heathrow airport, so departing at 9:30 PM on a Saturday evening I arrived at my hotel around 4:00 PM (local time) the following afternoon. This time I was staying at the Renaissance Harbour View hotel. I decided to eat in the hotel on the first night partly in order to try and recover from the long flight, but also given the current political unrest I didn’t want to get caught up in any of the protests that were underway at the time - although I guess that would have provided some good photo ops!

Most of the disturbances that week were over on the Kowloon side in and around the University. I hadn’t planned on taking the Star Ferry over to Kowloon on this occasion so apart from a small peaceful protest outside the British Council Offices opposite the Conrad Hotel I didn’t see any of the rioting.

On my second night I took my camera out around the local streets and into a nearby food market for the shots you see here. These were all made on my Sony A6500 and edited in Lightroom.

I have no overseas trips until the New Year so December’s Blog will be a bit closer to home.
